Hello team,

I just buy new shimano saint m820-b brakes (calipers + lever) for my cube stereo.

By installing them, I noticed that there is a yellow blocker on the lever, to prevent braking and thus to get the brake fluid out before everything is installed.

I tried to pull it in order to remove it, but it didn't move. I even used pliers, but i'm afraid to break everything if I put too much force on it.

I also tried to move the lever distance setting and free stroke setting.

You know how to take it out? Should I just try harder?

Have you tried removing the brake from the handlebar yet?

Yes, I mainly tried when it was off the handlebar actually.

In the technical manual, it just says to remove it :

 

[127.0.0.1]

in so many words it says wiggle the crap out of it w/o touching lever
and yank that sucker out. just yank it out

"move and pull on it" is code for 'give 'er the beans'

You have to get the Shimano™ Rapidpull ® © pliers for this.

I don't remember mine being a challenge to remove at all. Gaging by the pic try pushing the lever forward as you yank on the yellow puck.

try whacking it with a hammer..
