TTTurner, as JT said, I was on a Nitrous, and as the old saying goes 'horses for courses', well the Fontana race course is a rough, rocky, rutted out chunk of earth that had me missing my Czar!
I used to race there back in the late 1990's. I was curious to see if you rode the Flux, Czar, or Nitrous. The full suspension bikes are better for Fontana as you say. Good luck during the race season. Todd McIntosh (washed up old Coachella Valley racer on a black Flux)

The course was pretty beat up from the recent rain. It will probably smooth out. I do really like that course though, has a mix of everything.
I raced there after a heavy rain in the late 90's. I was oblivious because we got so little rain in the Coachella Valley the day before. We didn't have digital weather reports back then. I showed up with my dry lube and found nipple deep water crossings throughout the course. Needless to say the shifting was a little off that day. I saw Tinker Juarez closing in on me and my lower category group a few turns up the switchbacks before the finish. I barely held him off. We talked during our cool down and he said that he fell on the beat course and broke his pinky out at an almost 90 degree angle. He broke it back and finished the race. What an animal!!!
