I have gotten into riding recently, my first question is: are there any good trails around the south Florida area besides Markham Park. Also, what is the best way to go about finding people to ride with?

As a beginner, I would recommend riding Amelia as much as you can.
It's a great trail to build confidence and skills and there are always a lot of people there to ride with.
And, I'm not saying Amelia isn't awesome for advanced to expert riders…...just add speed.

Dyer Park has been a good for me as it doesn't have many technical spots. Watch the downhill at the end of the lap though, that rut bucked me on my first try. Pinehurst has more places for you to hurt yourself but is a decent intro to some low level technical stuff. Both of them are fairly slow so if you do fall you won't be going too fast.

Continue riding frequently. That is the only wy to build confidence. If Markham park is the nearest to you go ride there as often as possible. You can slowly step up to the advanced trails when you muster enough confidence.

Join clubs too so you can meet riders of different riding levels.

One important component of trail riding is also volunteering to work on the trails a great way to gain knowledge from more experienced riders. Experienced riders usually volunteer.
