I placed an order for a 2008 Spot frame last night directly from Turner. I just received a phone call from Turner Bikes comfiming my order, and to let me know it would be shipped today:thumbsup:

Thats what I call good customer service!

Awesome!! I just took advantage of clearance of 2008 models myself. I ordered up a Flux and a few odds and ends parts from the gang at Competitive Cyclists. Those guys are awesome too!!

Happy Holidays, hope the frame arrives soon and you have loads of fun.

Aloha,

And now starts the Ibexification of the Homer forum.
So do I have to renounce all things Ibex in order to be cool enough for the Turner forum? Cause that just isn't going to happen. You may have some issues with some other Ibex owners that I am friendly with, but not me. Don't try to create one out of thin air.
Ibex or whatever, I heare Case Mt. has some sweet trails. It's def on my to-do list.

Welcome aboard TM. Post pix.
Welcome TM, couldn't care less what ya rode before or where ya come from

1st rule of Homerism PICC's! :p

This forum is all about picc's, PAWN mainly, really, & spelt correctly :D , FO's mum, Rene's sisters, CC's cactus :D oh and bikes occasionally! :D

Are you keeping your Spot, too? Didn't you just put a Thor on that bike? Send pix, brah!
(And let me know what you think of the Flux.)

you've never been to Case Mtn.? You'll have to head up there. A buddy of mine lived in Manchester when I lived in Croton. We'd trade off riding at Blue Mtn and Case. You'd have fun out there.

TM:
Congrats! I miss the trails out there.

Well, back to shoveling the driveway...

You won't be a true Homer until you experience, and act upon, UGI for a RFX. :p

Plan on putting a 160mm fork on it? I'd actually be really curious to see how it compares to the RFX with an identical fork.

Tim, you made the right call (Spot vs. RFX). For Western Mass trails the Spot will be a killer frame. Nimble enough on the long climbs and oh so fun when pointed downhill. You can definitely build it up with a Fox 36, but I would think about your target weight before you try to make it into an RFX-lite.

Sorry Mr. Mallioux. Enjoy the ride.
No harm done, and please call me Tim.

Case is a fun spot and I enjoy riding there very much. But there are several other spots in the area that IMO are much better. Case just seems to get all the attention. If your ever in Western Ma or CT let me know. I would be happy to show you around Case or one of those other places.

I will post some pics when the frame arrives and I start to build it up.

Aloha Bud!!

I'm keeping the Spot. It's too awesome. The bike's down to low 27 lb range now with the awesome Thor Fork. I hurt my should erthe other week (riding my old Psycle Werks). Went over the bars dropping into a creek bed. The rock wasn't here the last time I dropped in. That was back in Oct. Went on a trip to visit my girlfriend in Santa Clara in November. Didn't get the fork on until week before (or so) Thanksgiving. So I'm finally getting back to the riding. The trails are sweet and dry out here right now.

The Flux is almost done (being built). It's beautiful. I'm gonna give it to my girlfriend. I've been meaning to catch up posting the pictures. Will get to that some time.
