I know Lance and this doesn't surprise me. He is, by his own admission, a bullheaded guy, but in a "good way", as far as I know him.

He competed in my event, Trans Iowa, with a broken hand a few years back, and last year, at the Dirty Kanza 200, he finished and was whisked away to the hospital immediately afterward to recieve three IV's of fluids from being so dehydrated by the Kansan heat and wind.

He also is the promoter of the Triple D event here in Iowa.

Lance: You are a great guy, and congrats to you on another fine accomplishment. That said, I hope you can find a less extreme way to be an endurance racer in the future there!
