This forum is for the IBIS owners. My boyfriend has ordered and bought an IBIS mojo and is waiting for it's arrival up in Edmonton. It is super cold here and to entertain himself he spends tons of time looking at bike porn. (which I fully support). Anyways he is getting his bike next week and heading down to Southern California to try it out. Do you have any recomondations for trails to try out while down there?

Wow I feel like a meathead on the whole Southern California thing... I guess it is a bit on the vague side...That's like going to the States and telling someone your Canadian and having the response "hey I have a friend in Toronto maybe you know them".

Anyways I was busted already on spilling the beans on his bike porn addiction. The porn addict found my posting. So apparently if I spent some more time on mtbr forums I may have notice forums specifically dedicated to Calfornia riding. I can't go this trip so he was keeping the trails on the down low so I wasn't bummed out. That's okay I'm sure I'll be perfectly happy staying home to work, watch The Simpson's and have self induced smartie icecream sugar comas, while freezing my arse off in the -20 weather.

Moral of the story thanks for the quick response (it was my first ever forum posting, I may now become an addict myself)... but apparently he has the trail issues sorted.

So Thanks and happy riding in the magically warm California weather.

Cheers. Meg

Meg,

Just curious, what trails has he located down there? I live in Morgan Hill, Ca or south of San Jose, Ca and will be relocating to Southern Califonria (City of Ventura or City of Camarillo both next to Oxnard) very soon and was also going to look up the trails there. In MTBR forum not many trails were listed.

Would be interested to know what trails await me there.

Thanks and hope you get to ride there as well.

Sycamore Canyon Rd in the Pt. Mugu State Park area just south of Ventura and Oxnard on Hwy1 (PCH) is a great area to ride with fun singletrack loops. It connects up to the Backbone Trail singletrack which runs the ridge line of the Santa Monica Mountains.

I think there is inland access to these trails from the Oxnard and Camarillo sides also.

Other trails are a further drive away. Simi Valley near Camarillo has some more difficult riding I've heard. And Santa Barbara and neighboring Monticello areas have some great long climbs and downhills.

Simi Valley has some excellent trails. You can link to Agoura Hills from there, or vice versa. There is also an expanding trail network in the Santa Monica mountains close to where you will be living: http://trails.mtbr.com/cat/united-s...ifornia-la-area/trail/PRD_165388_4520crx.aspx

As an ex-Southland / Thousand Oaks resident, I'm very partial to the trails in that area. Wildwood and Los Robles are both excellent trails, with Wildwood being some of the more technical stuff in the area. There is also good riding in Cheseboro Canyon in Agoura Hills (you just have to get past the "tourist area").
