After my brakes on my Trek 800 gave way while riding Sunday (yeah, that was a good experience), I came to the realization I need something better. Looking between $350-$450. I've read rave reviews about Ibex bikes and how they're an extraordinary value, but between the Alpine 450 and the GF Wahoo (similar price) I can't really discern much of a difference. Maybe I'm just an ignorant newcomer, but the component set looks to be very very similar. So could you folks help me choose, or possibly recommend something better for that range? Much thanks!

Differences are in the drivetrain: derailleurs, shifters, hubs, crankset etc. where Ibex Alpiine 450 is comparable to GF Marlin. So, if you can get a good deal on GF Marlin, for example $450, it would be great.

You wont be disapointed with the Ibex, the customer service is awsome & the bikes are the sweetest deal around spec for spec against the rest. :thumbsup: Be shure to post a pic of the cool new bike:cornut:
