i2i on rear shock of an 02 orange sub 3

hi guys, i just bought a brand new orange sub 3 frame that came with a fox float r rear shock. i was wondering if this shock which has an i2i of 6.5" was correct. the geometry looks a little off, has me thinking the i2i should be a little longer. can anyone help me out? thanks
