I can't quite position my ENO hub exactly where I want it, which is in the bottom left quadrant so if the bolts come lose, the weight of my body will pull my chian tighter. Right now, it's nearly 90 degrees with a slight biased to the forward position. Adding another link makes the chian too long. Where can I get a half link for cheap? My LBS doesn't carry any (and I think they don't like SS'ers). I don't know how wide my chian is but it's the one that came stock on my Specialized Hardrock. Thanks in advance!

another half link question

What size half link do normal 8 speed chains use? Danscomp.com has 1/8 inch and 3/16 inch available and I was wondering if I could use either one of those with an 8-speed chain (sram pc-48, pc-58)

I picked up a couple from Spicer Cycles. He asked whether I wanted 8 or 9 speed.

AE Bike has KMC half links for 3/32" chains. No idea if it is 8 or 9 speed width.

I was thinking of trying one less tooth but then I'd have to buy a new cog. The euro asia I have on now is really nice and it would be a shame to leave it in the parts bin. I actaully have a track bike with a crazy (52 x 14) gearing and tried to swap the rear cogs. But the teeth sizes were not the same.

Oh yeah, I tired adjusting my chainring like you recommended to fix the inconsistent chain tension problem I posted earlier. There really wasn't a lot of play room and I did my best. It helped a little but not much. I think I must've tweaked my BB or something. It's still ridable, I'm just being picky now.

Thanks for your advice. You've been really helpful with my ENO issues.

Any bike shop with a QBP account can order a KMC 3/32" half link for 8spd chains.
