I haven't bought shoes in 10 years. I need something that is SPD compatible and am looking for something that is more like a sneaker or low hiking shoe. I'm not looking for those shiny plastic/carbon racer shoes that look more like a road shoe.

I like the Shimano SH-ME7. Compatibility with SPD's is perfect and the Michelin sole is grippy, even on Slickrock.

5-10's. They grip like Velcro on rock and are SPD compatible. They started out as a rock climbing shoe company.

I ended up going with the Giro Rumble VR...I'll see how I like em if no go then I'll go with the 5-10's but found a killer deal on the Giro's and seem to have a good many positive reviews.
