to pack this bad boy in... My old case from my 26" S&S MTB will not work unless I remove the tires, oh well... I am still working out fit and contact point issues so cockpit may change but so far this is what I have come up with. I'd like a bar with more sweep and still work with the Rohloff shifter ok. I may try a Mary again.

A little heavey but with WB & Rohloff I guess that is to be expected. I really like the cable routing for the Rohloff, very clean. Next time you see her there will be several less Moots decals...

Anyone else used a Thomson S-2 stem on a MTB? It is the only 31.8 stem my LBS had on hand that had the reach and ~rise I wanted. I assume it will be ok but if not let me know while I still have my teeth. ;)

bigger suitcase....

A pal of mine switched to a 29er S&S travel bike a couple years ago. He had to get a larger case over his 26" S&S bike as well. So far he's been dinged $40 to $80 oversize luggage fees on about half his flights, so pick you new case carefully! Not sure of details, but some airlines measure the checked luggage from time to time!

He's gone back to just deflating the 29er tires and using the smaller hardcase.

Good routing on the push/pull Rohloff cables.

Cool bike. Any issues with your left inside heel catching those braze ons for the Rohloff lines? My KM rear mech braze on killed my shoes.

Did you consider running the lines above the BB and along the top of the CS? I've got visions of a new HT with the disc tab sitting on the chainstay vs. seatstay and like that routing.

None at all. Those tabs are under the CS and I could not hit if I wanted too. I left the routing up to Moots as they have a lot of Rohloff experience and I had none. They know what they are doing .

Very sweet indeed! Love those new S&S couplings, without the collars. Really shows off the welds. I've had good luck with the S&S soft backpack case. It fits my S&S IF 29er with deflated tires. No problems with dents or dings while traveling, so far.

awesome, sort of my dreambike right there. i am sending you a PM as there is another option on the case which is slightly bigger, yet usually goes under the radar at the check-in counter.
