So as soon as I thought I had finally made up my mind to get a Banshee Rune, I start looking around and getting indecisive again...:madman:

Right now I'm riding a Scott Scale 29er, and I'm wondering if I'm going to regret going away from a 29er. So do you think I'd be better off going with something like a RIP9 or WFO9 from Niner? Or do you have any suggestions on other 29ers that would be a good All Mountain bike and comparable to a Rune?

It would be helpful to know what type of riding you do and how aggressive you are. The Rune is a pretty burly bike that can take quite a beating and certainly leans more towards the upper end of "all mountain".

Well I do anywhere from XC to occasionally doing some light DH stuff and some chair lift rides. So basically I need something that can do it all and handle it all, that's why I was going with the Rune...

Seems that the Rune would probably be a pretty good match for you, the 26" wheels will allow the bike to be a lot more flick-able and snappy through the technical and steep stuff. I'm very partial to the rune since I've owned 2 Banshees(a scream and scythe) and now ride a hardtail, but I've been eying a Rune frame for the future.

yeah, i'd go rune. i'm still doubtful how much abuse a 29" wheel can take. lift assisted imho is too much for most 29" wheels. can it be done? sure. can the rune handle what you are talking about? most definitely

i love my rune and as an all rounder it's great. i do just what you are talking about and it handles everything well.

maybe the new prime from banshee will fit the bill too. but its still a while away from production.

Sounds like you should fine a way to go try some bikes. While somebody here might be able to convince you one way or the other, they might be wrong about what's right for you just as likely as you being wrong about it.

Thanks for the advice guys. And yes, I'm definitely going to ride a couple different ones, I was just starting this post to see if anyone knew of a 29er that would be close to comparable to a Rune. Odds are I'm probably going to go with the Rune. I just like everything about it, and I think that it's going to fit my needs the best. I'll let you all know what I decide on. Hopefully it won't be too long before I get one!!!!!
