I got a late Xmas present and look where I found it:

Yes, in my trunk.

No, but really; This is my first 29'er. Alex from Cycle Progression was very patient and helpful to make sure that this 29'er would fit me w/o top-tube issues. Alex went out of his way and called a customer of his and he (I didn't get his name) bring the same size / spec bike and called me out when it was there at his shop. I came out again and rode it. Within these couple of minutes I was SOLD!

I will be stripping as much off my 08 XC / FS bike and transfer a majority of those to my new Bandersnatch. I just ordered new rims and crank set.

I am still debating if I want to go rigid or a suspension fork.

~ So I just want to give props to Alex @ Cycle Progression, he is a cool dude!
Thanks,
-Mike

You made a great choice

Mike -

That was my wife's bike you tried out today, I just showed her your post and she got excited to know that you "approved" of her bike and joined the club. Your going to be even happier once you get it built.

I agree with you about Alex and his shop, he knows his buisness, is a hell of a bike rider, and has a deft eye for providing the best bikes/equipement for the serious Austin mountain bikers.

Shoot me a pm when you get it built and we can meet for a ride sometime.

Everyone else, if your looking for a Vassago check in with Alex @ cycleprogression.com

Nice frame, and I agree 100% about Alex at Cycle Progression. He was great to deal with when I ordered my Turner, and he was even willing to ship it to me out of state (I'm in MA currently).

I just scored a manitou Minute 100mm fork (just overhauled by manitou) from a local mojo out here.

So, now waiting on wheelset and 30mm front hub.

Tomorrow my fs bike is going to be stripped apart.

Finally got most of her completed. I need to order a new front derailleur because to one X7 I got is not made for the bottom cable pull :(

But here are the pics I have now:

Manitou Minute 100mm fork
Protaper bars
Ergon grips
Easton EA50 stem
WTB saddle
POS seat-post
Juicy 5- brakes
Front 185mm disc
Rear 160mm disc
Salsa Delgado rims
Hope hub
9-spd sram

Can't comment on the ride since I have yet to rip some trails, but I need to work on the brakes a little more

So, enough of the BS ,, blah, blah........... here is the PORN:

Nice build. I am getting close to pulling the trigger on one....what do I have to do to get one to appear in my trunk?

I agree that Alex and Cycle Progression are top notch. He let me demo his Sultan which of course made it much easier for me to buy one.

See you on the trails around Austin.

Sounds good. Plan to ride here very soon. Daughter is sick so I am moaning around the house.

Oh also I did weigh it. With pedals and and all. It sits at 28lbs.
Wish it was little lower, but still lighter then my FS / XC was (by a pound) :D
