I checked out Maddie and her pet platypus a few weeks after the first thread. They were both waterlogged but hanging in there. It's been two weeks since then. Has her owner claimed her?
Well, not exactly. Now Maddie is hanging on by one leg, her pet platypus is doing what it can to help and there's a new pink fluffy thing with them. It's like a shrine to all abandoned stuffed toys now. For those who have no idea what I'm talking about check out the original thread:

I just needed a few hours away from my desk so I walked on to Goshawk. What a beautiful day. Nature called so I went off trail for a second. In mid-whizz I looked 6 inches from my left leg and...is that what I think it is?
:eekster: :yikes:
Oh yeah, the second I got back I was able to witness the first flight of one of the barn swallow nestlings as it happened. Pretty cool. The other two are still in the next looking skeered. The parents would go up to the would-be flyer screeching "come on, come on, it's time!" Then he took off with the parents in the lead and me watching. Had the wrong camera in my hand to capture that.
