Hi People.
I have a problem with my rear Huthinson Barracuda wheel on my Giant Talon Mountain bike, and would like peoples assistance.
The problem only exists on the rear wheel. The front wheel is damage free.
My bike is only 9 months, and well kept. Both front and rear wheels are pumped up to the required pressure. I have attached pictures of the wheel in question.
I have circled in red the damage spots so that people can spot easily.
As you can see there are multiple tears on the side lining of the rear wheel. The tears only exist on the outside rear wheel, and is now exposing the inner tube in some areas.

This to me appears to be a manufacturing fault with this wheel rather than a general wear and tear issue. As explained, my front wheel shows none of these signs.
I did look up the Hutchinson website, and could not see anything about warranties of their products.
Certainly if these wheels are considered XC by the manufacturer they certainly should last a little longer than 9 months, and not fall apart at the seams.
I spoke with my LBS from where I purchased the bike and they where not able to assist me with my enquries. Basically left me with unanswered questions and for me to follow it up with the manufacturer.
Unfortunately Hutchinson does not have an Australian presence, and only exists in the US and France.
What I would like to know from people is the following:
I ask these questions, because were this to happen to a vehicle tire, this would certainly be dealt with accordingly with the place that fitted the wheels under warranty agreement.
Anyway, I appreciate your assistance and feedback in advance.

What I would like to know from people is the following:
- Has anyone ever experienced anything like this ?
- Would this be covered under the warranty of the bike, or under a manufacturers warranty for the tire ?
- What kind of warranty do people get when they purchase tires ?
