Any reports of damage?
I think I'll stick with 4.0 quakes down here. Hopefully there isn't too much damage up there.
Here's the shaking intensity map:

Strong - Nonstructural Damage - Difficult to stand. Noticed by drivers of motor cars. Hanging objects quiver. Furniture broken. Damage to masonry D, including cracks. Weak chimneys broken at roof line. Fall of plaster, loose bricks, stones, tiles, cornices (also unbraced parapets and architectural ornaments). Some cracks in masonry C. Waves on ponds; water turbid with mud. Small slides and caving in along sand or gravel banks. Large bells ring. Concrete irrigation ditches damaged.

Just called my buddy in Arcata. He was working, he said it didn't really even knock anything off the shelves.
Everything shook pretty good, but not enough (at least at my house in Fortuna) to do any damage. Definitely the worst one I've felt since Northridge in 1994
Apparently 6.5 isn't noticable to someone on a bike...cause I totally missed it. Was out for a spin on the road bike...no damage. Lots of power outages though. All the bars in Arcata down.

Get FEMA on line 1 immediately!

Glad to hear you Humboldtians are A OK.
At first....

I thought that the garage door opener had triggered by itself. But after a second realized it was a quake.

It was the strongest I've felt since moving to Humboldt from Big Bear ten years ago, but really nothing compared to the Big Bear quake and the Landers quake back in '91. THOSE were intense!:eekster:
any new "gaps" at the community park?
Security Cam from local newspaper office....

...caught this footage. It's actually kinda funny....the office dog, a big yellow lab-looking pooch, detects the quake coming and then exits stage right, "I'm outta here!"

Hahaha
Just got another 6-er, nearly the same place as last time. Felt as one small jolt here in Arcata, doubt it did much damage.

awesome
Mini Re-run

I was sitting here at my desk at Team Bigfoot World Headquarters when this quake hit a few minutes ago. It was like a mini version of a month ago...the hanging plant started to sway, then rumble rumble, hard kick, hard kick, rumble rumble. The plant swayed for another thirty seconds after the rumbling stopped.
I wonder what Pat Robertson will blame this one on.

Atheist stoners.

Edit: This would be a good band name.
I think they're playing at Jamalaya next Saturday....
