I'm planning trip to Mammoth (early August), probably will be riding 2 morning.

Green and Blues runs (from MM demarkation) sounds clear enough, but what about above that? I'm not into high speed DH, but rather rocky, technical sections. Drops 3-4' at best.

How does their Black/Double black runs are? any comparisment with local trails? Let's say vs. Demo, USCS? or Montara and DMC(Belmont) park? Maybe Downieville?

What trails are good for exploration? Where you can observe obstacles or bypass them?
Basicaly what should I expect by turning on one of those.

Thanks, and happy riding.

Mammoth is unlike any other place I've ever ridden. It's very "gravelly" from the volcanic pumic. It's way different than D-ville or anything in Tahoe although it does have it's slow, tehcnical rocky sections. They have all levels of trails so you should be able to find something you like. I would highly reccomend going.
