Howard Stern...Why would anyone listen...

to him? He's inflammatory. That's it. His whole reason for being is to be controversial at about a 10th grade level. My only question to him would be "do you ride?".

To incorrectly quote whoever "there's a sucker born every minute". Those who listen to Howard, watch reality tv, buy infomercial junk and lack in basic common sense need not reply as your response is as predictable as Howards program.

Is this a goof? Or do you really mean this? Because if it's the latter, that's just about the silliest 4th grade level thread I've ever read, making Stern's alleged 10th grade humor seem vastly more intelligent than your belligerant rantings.

My only question to him would be "do you ride?"
Oh yeah, you seem to have a great handle on priorities and life in general. Perhaps it's time to invest in a saddle. That seatpost you seem to be riding on appears to be wedged fairly deep in your sphincter.

I absolutely love the Howard Stern show. It's genius. You are coming off as an ignorant right wing lunatic... Is that how you wish to be percieved? I don't even watch TV.

Actually, I''ve listened to Howard Stern a total of zero times (for exactly the reasons you state), and I have no qualms saying your statement might literally be the silliest I've ever read. WTF do you care what other people read, listen to, or watch?

P.S. I think Howard actually does ride, or used to.
Huh?

Just wondering how you could form such an opinion after listening to Stern "zero amount of times"
Didn't he recently do a show where he was joking about running cyclists off the road and generally bad mouthing cyclists-like those other DJ losers. I read it here I believe
And what's that got to do with the eggs in China? So now the measure of a man is whether or not he rides a bike and what his attitude is towards cyclists?

This is pathetic.

Stern was funny, once upon a time in the past...now he's more of a parody of himself, a cliche. All "radio personalities" basically suck these days (especially the moronic JohnBoy and Billy, or whatever the F those simpletons names are....I thought they were talentless locals here in Knoxville, turns out they're syndicated to a whole BUNCH o' stations,,,unbelievable !!!) We do have one great locally owned/operated station in K-town that plays a great mix of music, yet the dj's remain just dj's, not trytin' to be "personalities". It's nice to have a station that plays music, not "hits", per se." WEST 105.3 radio the way it should be"
Actually, I don't have an opinion one way or another. I've never listened to him because I've heard his humor is childish (I did actually see his movie though, and it was funny, in a CaddyShack kind of way). Nonetheless, I was ripping Fred for making such a stupid statement, not Howard. Why would any body bother to waste space criticizing somebody for what somebody else watches, reads, or listens to?
Feeling judgmental today?

Feeling judgmental today or did Howard push one of your buttons? Your blanked generalization about his fans is off base. ...I mean, you don't know who listens to him, so you're talking out your butt. You only imagine you know.

WTF? If he's talking smack about cyclists or joking about running them off the road I would say it's relevant considering we are on a CYCLING website.

I don't give a crap if he rides or not, but I'm not listening to some lame a$$ if he jokes about running us(maybe this doesn't include you) off the road.
I listened and watched Stern several times over the years and, unless I'm missing something, his shows pretty much looks and sounds the same each time. Mostly his show is something about sex and he has a on porn star or someone trying to ignite a fart with a lighter type of stunt.

Not really very original to me since he does his show everyday...but, hey, he remains popular..

SS Slave
you don't have to like him but maybe you should realize every morning show on radio is now there because of him - in denver it is lewis and floorwax(we can't even get howard)...he set the standard (however childish it may be) for the morning radio show... i used to listen to him on the A.M. radio growing up in the East but haven't heard him in awhile...back then the show had some great funny moments, but you do have to like childish humor (i am a middle school sped ed teacher, so i do like it)..

by the way, a lot of the posts on these boards are pretty childish too, but it make for cheap entertainment.
Talk is cheap, rroeder. Perhaps it might help to actually listen to the show once in a while instead of going on hearsay or second-hand info. Do you know for a fact that he really did say that? And supposing he did, what does that mean in the larger scheme of things? Until and unless he really does run a cyclist off the road (yeah, me included), then it's simply show fodder.

It's true what's been said in this thread. Such strong opinions on Stern seem to be coming from those who have had almost no direct exposure to Stern. Moreover, the fact that some of you really do believe that the measure of a person is whether or not he rides a bike is both hilarious and pathetic.

Looks like more than one person needs to invest in a saddle around. Riding around with that seatpost jammed up there can't be good for you, no matter how much you enjoy it.
