Ok I have a Trek 930 that I have had since about 96 and was possibly thinking about buying a new bike. However before doing so I would like to find out more info on SS. I would consider just converting my bike. Im wonding how much its going to cost to do so(wife and a kid on the way so budget is tight). Im guessing all it will take is new brake levers, and convert the rear hub (however you do that im unsure) and pulling off some of some parts. It being simple and weight issues is the reasons I think I would like it. Thanks for any info.

JonBoy I just did a 820 and love it. My Stumpy squishy is just hanging around gathering dust.
The 920 had a better grade of componets than did the 820 so alot of them would work just fine unless you just wanted to change them for change sake.
Remove the front derailer and all parts there of... I think your cranks have bolts so you can take them apart and use the 32... with a bash guard if you want or with smaller bolts if just the ring..... remove the rear derailer and all parts... find a space kit to get the single rear cog in line with the chain.... you will probably need some kind of a tensioner for the chain.
Here are some photos of mine... sorry for the dirt, did not have a chance to do a clean up from yesterdays ride before I went out and did the shots for this post.
Headed out of town in the AM so if there are any questions I will check in Tuesday night when I get back.
