Ok so i want to convert my three chain ring to a two. So i took the big chain ring off but when i do how do i adjust my shifter to not push the chain off the ring or do i have to buy a different shifter. Any input would be great, thanx in advance

Adjust the limit screws to not go past the outside ring (what was the middle ring), and set the shifter up like a road bike (i.e. with a middle trim)

You also need a bash or shorter chain ring bolts for this new set up to work.

You take the third ring off and that's it. Get a bashguard so the chain can't go past the second chainring.

You don't need different shifters, just use the first two shifts.

Just assuming you haven't done this before, the limit screws will have an "H" and an "L" meaning high and low. You want to turn the "H" in to prevent the chain from going off the outiside. As was also mentioned, get a bash ring.
