Had the shock off the bike, removed the metal retaining ring and the black cover from the shock body.

This reveals the nickel plated body of the shock, which i cant shift for love nor money.

How does it come off?

Its not so much the direction, more how to get enough purchase on the shock body to make it move?

Try one of the strap wrenches that are for stuck oil fiters, many are available out or rubber that should not damage the air can at all.

Try the strapping wrench, if not, give it a little heat with a hair dryer or heater, then try again
