I recently purchased a Rocky Mounts SlipNoose bike tray that just bolts on to the cross bars on my roof rack... four allen head bolts head side up in front and two wing nuts in back (how convenient )

How can I more securely attach these to the cross bars? I mean, the Yakima cross bars lock onto my OEM roof rack and the quick release on the fork locks, but what's the point? I bet you'd could unbolt the whole thing in less than a minute.

Am I missing something?

Yes, you are!

Go to your Yakima dealer and ask for 2 or 3 "bolt locks". (1 per tray is enough but I use 2). All it is basically is a lock that thread onto the exposed portion of the bolt underneath - preventing a theif from taking-off with the bike & tray. Just ask the dealer. They'll know what you need. The reason I bought 2 locks is simply because you may wish to buy another tray in the future and keep the same key for both.
