How To Fix Burping/ Leaking Problem

I have an old 26" hardtail that I recently updated. I installed Sun- Ringle MTX33 rims in order to fit bigger rubber. Running DHR2 EXO front and Ardent EXO rear. The trails I ride with this bike are pretty smooth with occasional roots and very few sharp rocks.
The front is doing fine but I have continuing trouble with the rear. Several times it has lost all pressure suddenly and has streaks of sealant running down the sidewall from the bead. I think this is from burping. Bumped pressure up til the tire was very firm but no help.Should note that the rims are not tubeless ready (should have read the fine print!!) and running Orange sealant with one wrap of Orange tape. I think the problem is the rim profile, maybe in combination with the soft Ardent casing? Any suggestions are welcome. If I can't fix this soon I'll just install a tube.

I would either buy tubeless ready rims or use tubes. You could also try wrapping a couple more rounds of tape but personally I wouldn't risk it.

I think a double down casing in the rear may well help. The Ardent is a pretty flimsy tire.

without tubeless ready rims, you're going to be doing a lot of experimentation which may or may not turn out well.

To help remedy your issue on a non-tubeless rim, I'd ditch the Orange Seal tape and do a pass or 2 with some Gorilla Tape. It's thicker and will build up the hook area.

I think this is normal with age. I've heard old men say never trust a fart. This must be the reason.

If you feel odd reading that, you don't know the context.
