I purchased a used 2001 Racer-X that does not have the X-link. Did anyone here have an old Racer-X sans X-link and then upgrade to a newer one? If so, was there a significant change to the feel of the rear end? I assume the addition was to help control some of the lateral movement in the rear triangle.

That was my opinion. However the original 2 piece link just helped, the 3 piece link was a serious upgrade in my opinion.
