I go to Vegas a couple times a year. I've stayed at various hotels there. I've always just rolled my bike up to my room. No hotel staff has ever said anything to me about my bike. I'd never leave my bike in some random room.

I stayed in the Mandalay Bay and from our window could look down at the parking lot where the gunman shot everyone. It was a bit surreal.
Until Covid, I was staying at the MB at least once a year, some years many times, as we produce events and MB has the best event space of Vegas hotels. We had a show that had issues, due to some things out of out control and lost the account. If we hadn't lost the account, I would have been at MB during the shooting, it was the day the event was scheduled to open.

It really changed security at these events, some things pretty visible such as k-rail (the temp concrete walls used along roadways) and some things not so visible.

This is timely for me as I'm flying into vegas and riding 3 mornings while I'm there. My plan was to walk the bike right up to the room. I'm flying with a good bag but I really don't want to tear down the bike and rebuild it 3 times while I'm there. Of course I'd attempt to keep it clean, might be tough with the sand and grit of vegas trails.

I've been to a hotel several times in Chattanooga and a friend and I leave our bikes in the storage closet without issue. But it's a smaller hotel and they know us at this point.

Going on a road trip and passing through las vegas, considering bringing my bike. I was wondering how safe it is to leave a $5K+ bike in the hotel baggage area. Im staying at the bellagio so I dont think I can bring the bike in the elevator up to the room.

Or have people taken their bikes up to the room?
What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. You can take pretty much anything into your rooms......

If I can't bring the bike into the hotel room, then screw that place.

First of all, an EVOC case doesn't look like a bike. It looks like something, maybe musical equipment, whatever, but it doesn't look like a bike at that point.

I'm not paying hundred+ dollars a night to leave my **** in the car. If I can't bring stuff in, I'll just sleep in my car. The whole idea of getting a hotel room is being able to bring stuff inside.

All that said, to keep the karma going and to not be a d*ck, you don't bring a muddy bike in the hotel either. If it gets nasty during the ride, you go clean it off at a car-wash or whatever before you bring it in. You don't let dirt clods fall on the floor and grease stains on stuff. I'm sure I keep my room a lot cleaner than a lot of dirtbags the hotel employees have to deal with, the ones that stack trash outside and inside, etc. I keep it that way.

I've been doing this for years, from motels to the high end hotels in Bellevue WA. No one has ever said anything to me.

Its Vegas! Take it to the room. The hotel staff has witnessed so much weirdness that I doubt a bicycle would get a 2nd look. FWIW, I've taken my bikes into Hyatt's, DoubleTree's, Hiltons, and some very nice resorts in Asheville and Augusta.

I would never, ever recommend storing my bikes anywhere but with me at my home, or at a hotel/airbnb that I'm at, or at a LBS. All other locations: storage lockers, coat checks, hotel storage areas, workplace storage areas--HELL NO.

Be careful what you ask for. I would not call and ask. I spend lots of time in hotels.
This x 100

The first time we stayed at the Red Rock hotel...I asked a random hotel staffer. He went and asked someone else. A dude in a suit came up to me and said I had to leave the bikes downstairs in one of the storage rooms. So I did. The second night I asked another staffer and he "no problem"...bring it on up. Since then...I don't ask and just roll the bikes across the casino and into the elevators. No one has ever questioned me about the bikes. There is usually a security guard sitting by the elevators...none of them ever said anything to me about the bikes.

In my opinion they should have destroyed that hotel / casino after that.

I've rolled bikes right through the front door of the Luxor, also.

I don't like vegas, though, so not much chance of me trying many of the other hotels. The bellagio does seem pretty uptight, though. I think you definitely gotta roll in like you own the place on that one.

I look at it this way. Every hotel parking lot has signs saying not responsible for theft. Do not leave valuables in car.

That right there tells me my bike is coming into the room.

Hmmmm… what does it tell us if the room has a safe for your valuables?
