Hi folks,

I'd really appreciate some superior Titus knowledge help here.

I have a titanium FCR (full custom racer) which is around 8 or 9 years old but still looks really good and rides really well. I'm thinking about selling it because the geometry is really designed for 80-100mm fork maximum and living here in Austria i could really use something which will handle a 125mm fork comfortably.

Because this bike is a one off in the UK i can't find anyone to give me an idea of it's value.

Can anyone here help please ?

I don't have a picture as the bike is still being kept for me in the UK.

Thanks very much

Here I'll bite on this one..........

Problem one.....FCR is a custom Ti build.......That is unless you know all measurements only your exact clone will buy it from you......Cause Titus tends to go over your measurements and ride abilities before they build you one. because of that you're gonna have to offer it out at well below market value to entice anyone frome taking it from you.

Problem 2.....8-9 year old frames no matter Ti or onobtanium do not hold very much resale value.........no matter how great the ride or whatsoever.

Probelm 3 easy to find out what MSRP for an old bike is.....that's what the web is for.....I think back in the day when that frame was new it woulda sold for about 1400-1500 bucks new at most.

Problem 4 its not new and it being in the UK it will cost a arm and a leg to ship internationally.

so my guess would be 300-400 bucks US, but sorry I'm not offering.

Hi TiEndo,

Thanks for that, i wouldn't try to sell it in the US, rather europe or the uk but am interested in it's value from someone who knows about Titus. If it's really only worth that much i'll keep it, it's a beautiful bike.

Ziegi,

Since you are in austria.... give it a trial run on ebay.de placing it at the price you want to get for it as start price or "buy it now" (sofort kaufen)... be detailed on your measurements and maybe somebody will bite... if nobody does you only lose the money for placing the auction.. about 0.25 EUR

Ziegi, a real hard question, but TiEndo is thinking as me. It is one of those things that would be better to hold onto for past good times value. If you got 400 Euro, you would be going well I think................... Keep it, hang it on the wall............ Best of luck

My advice is too keep it........Ti hardtails are just like your first love, you dump it and you'll keep thinkin about it forever........Plus usually your first love was your cheapest thrill as well so keep her in your stable;)

I agree with Black and Ti. Keep it!!!! Convert you Ti hard tail to a Single Speed. I did it with my old Xizang and it smokes with an ENO rear hub. It weighs out at 20.6 with this old Manitou shock I’ve got on it. I don’t know if you have ever SS before, but once you do you will love it.
