so i've never actually weighed my SS as it wasn't really a priority but i was in the bike shop today and just put on a new to the SS set of hand me down wheels so i thought i'd throw it up on the scale. verdict-21.1lbs! It's crazy how easy it is to make a light bike without all those extra parts so i'm curious as to what others weigh, especially those actually built with weight in mind.

Dunno. I'd bet 26ish. I just built it with the cheapest strongest functionalist stuff I could get. Surly 1x1, small, Race Face cranks, Syncros rims, Surly hubs, Avid V's, Salsa stem, post, and Ritchey bars. Fat 2.5 IRC Trailbears. Rigid fork. FSA headset. It rides great, I'll never really weigh it.

cro-moly frame, squishy fork 25lbs

I didn't build this bike up to be light. (just converted to SS)
However, I am replacing parts with light weight as the goal.
As it sits in this picture it's about 27.5lbs
I am replacing the bar, stem, seat, tires, tubes tonight.

Calculated new weight 25lbs

It started at dead on 30lbs with all the multi-gear CRAP on it :p
