Portland, OR to Vancouver, BC is about 5-6 hours per Mapquest. I don't know about the border situation.

BC will be a great central location for us. We'll have Alaska North and California South. I've never been hangin in Oregon or Washington but look forward to Mt Hood and other terrain of the same sort.
