Trophies vs the purity of enjoyment.
=sParty
l generally agree with what you post, but not now.
I think its good for some folks to post what they did, as its a motivation to do better.
For some folks doing better is the purity of enjoyment. l know l like to do better (than last year) but thats my personal battle, and l personally dont need to post about it, but just saying that others do.
Cheers

I haven't raced in a few years, so data logging is about all I do these days. When I was racing, it was the results that mattered and the training was the vehicle to those results. Those days are likely behind me now. (but there is always a chance...)

This year I hope to do more of everything...and to do it better...

(And when I say "everything," I mean EVERYTHING and doing it BETTER, on and off the bike!)

I don't disagree with you, Chris, and I generally agree with what you post, too.
Maybe I'm just a bitter old man who knows his glory days are behind him. :)
Honestly, my comment wasn't intended to be harsh on the people who post in this thread, it's more the ruminations of an old guy who grew up in a society that awarded trophies to those who's achievements put them on the podium.
These days it seems that every kid with a mom who'll drive him/her to the venue gets a trophy and I personally feel this is a failure of our current culture.
Just my opinion; not asking anyone to agree with it.

P.S. Sincere thanks for being gentle with me. :)

I did pretty good:

36 inappropriate Strava comments
18 double entendres
14 hotties stalked

How are you guys getting your other year end Strava results?
You forgot two numbers: Number of restraining orders sought against you and the number obtained against you!

Can't believe I got even that much elevation in flat flat flat Houston.
Wow, that is almost the opposite of my stats, with a lot of elevation versus miles. Aiming for 250k this year.
