How I fitted a 770 middle ring on a 760 crankset. Pics!

For those with some skill and want a longer lasting middle ring to replace the older aluminium one on his 760 cranck, here it goes:
1-First had to lime down the spider a bit at the area shown in the pic.Just by hand and didn´t need to take more than 0.5mm off. That small aluminium rise wouldn´t let the flat part of the 770 ring rest properly.
2-Cut a 0.8mm polycarbonate sheet to desired shape.
3-Assemble!

NOTES: I´m not 100% sure a 0.8mm spacer is the right thickness. I just trusted my eye. Might be that a thicker one fits good too. If a thicker than 1.2mm doesn´t throw the ring way too inside it may be not necessary to lime down the spider, as the rising lid is no taller than 1,2mm, roughly.

Cheers!

Yes, but was much easier to cut the polycarbonate to the right shape.
Is it just me or does that middle ring look backwards. I haven't see the m770 rings, but it looks like the shift pin is on the wrong side in the photo.

No, you´re seeing the backside of the shifting pin(rivet-like fixing) Look at the right side of the 4th pic, a bit blurry but you´ll see both sides.
Hello,
Maybe somebody tried to fit all SLX chainrings to FC-M760 crank? I'am not sure if they fit.
Thanks
