Hey guys,

I just bought a 2013 Trail SL2 from the lbs, and have already taken it for a couple of rides around the local trails. Whenever I face a small jump, roots, rocks or bumps, I'm always unsure as to how hard I can push the bike without something breaking. The frame is really light so I'm assuming the aluminium frame must be pretty thin, and I'm not sure how hard it can go without getting a crack. Keep in mind, I'm technically a beginner, although I'm not slow on the trail, and I weigh about 63kg riding an XL frame (I'm 6'3"). In the event of casing a jump, let's say a 3 foot kicker to an equivalent down ramp for example, what is the likely hood of the frame cracking? And if it was to crack, would it be covered by warranty? I'd rather not find out these things the hard way so I thought I'd ask here first :p

Cheers!

6'3 and sixty kilos? Anything that crack that frame will shatter your vertebrae. Giv'er hell the bike can take it. The frame has a lifetime warranty from cracking, and C'dale has a good crash replacement policy if you somehow brake it or run it over with your car
