I always considered that a good mtn bike ride was the best therapy I could have. Relieves stress, makes problems seem smaller, truly a fantastic mental attitude adjuster. When I did my psychiatric nursing rotation, I felt that a lot of the patients could have benefited from a good regime of aerobic exercise. Cycling, it's not a cure all but it definitely helps the body and mind.
I'm not sure lithium would help those you see on the trail, prozac or valium maybe. Or maybe just a beer and a slice of pizza.
