Hello,

How do I remove the crank arm from a 2012 Shimano Alivio crankset? I recently broke a tooth on my middle chainring. I have the replacement part in-hand, but can't figure out how to remove the crank arm to install the part.

The bicycle is a 2012 Scott Spark 70:

I found some information on the crankset here:
http://techdocs.shimano.com/media/techdocs/content/cycle/EV/bikecomponents/FC/EV-FC-M430-8-3020_v1_m56577569830709444.pdf
and here:

Of course, neither document tells me how to remove the arm.

Thanks in advance,

Rob

That tool has a removable tip so it can work on square taper and octalink bb's, it must be missing.

Hello,

I took my bike to the local LBS yesterday. They used the Park Tool CCP-44 to remove the crank (with ease).

Thanks for all the help,

Rob
