Except they tend to fall off when you put your bike in a stand if you happen to hit them wrong
Can't say I've had that trouble. At least they don't remove skin when it happens. Mine have pretty much stayed put. I don't think I've ever lost one either. Yet.

Thanks, I'll probably go with the c-clips.

Although I'm tempted to use ties out of principle since I'm annoyed that I'm using Jagwire cables and they were too cheapass to throw 3 clips in the brake cable component bag. Because of that I'm looking at like 6 bucks plus shipping and wait time.

Thanks again for the replies.....very helpful!

C clips are a pain in the ass. If you make a sharp turn and your housing pulls because of the handlebar moving alot, they will pop off. Just get zip ties. If they scratch your leg, then move the zip tie clamp part away from your leg...

But if you want to do the C clips, go to your LBS and if they arent a bunch of jerks, they will be glad to give you a couple. Any LBS will have a bunch of little parts like that. They probably won't charge you (my LBS doesn't for things like that).

I have cut myself on a lot worse than a small zip tie in my life. I too have had the C clips come loose on me. I have never seen a zip tie break or fall off in all of my field use of them at work. Never have cut myself on one either.

 Not sure how a you can "cut yourself" worse on smooth and rounded c-clip than a cut off zip tie?
