I recently became inspired to but my first mountain bike and i need some advice on how i did. I was originally looking for a full suspension bike, but i quickly found out that it was out of my budget of around $500. After searching on ebay for over a month, i think i found myself a great buy for the cash. I bought a 2009 Giant Yukon. The bike has had some key upgrades that really sold me on it. The stock forks were upgraded to 2009 Fox 32 FL 100's, the brakes were upgraded to Hayes Hydraulic Sole XC 6" Rotors, The shifters and rear derailleur are Shimano Deore, and the front derailleur is Shimano Acera. It also comes with Kenda Blue Groove(F) / Nevegal (R) 26 x 2.1" tires. The bike has no dents or dings and is in great shape.

Please let me know what you think of this set up. I am very curious of the pros and cons of my bike and its parts.

Nice fork! That bike is worth more than what you paid. Great buy!

Cons - your bike still has reflectors. Remove them forthwith! Plus you may consider getting rid of the cages and going with just plain ol' flats.

That's a fine looking first mtb.
Now loosen the reflectors and hit the trails.
