I break a lot of air chucks, usually the plastic ones. Anyway I decided to get something nicer (unverified) and metal, an Arundel.

For reasons I don’t understand a lot of the metal options thread into a schrader valve, which must be clamped in place. I just used a small hose clamp, but it is decidedly a POS, gets in the way and has sharp edges. What are my alternatives?

Oetiker clamps. The size you need you won't find in a hardware store, but home-brew shops and some automotive parts stores have them. Make sure you measure the outer diameter of the installed hose, to make sure you get the right size.

The size you're dealing with doesn't need a "special" tool other than bull-nose (finish nail clipping) pliers.

Oetiker is probably the best simple option. Just about any size you need is available thru McMaster Carr.. that place is a toy store for adults...

Personally I fn'ing hate Oetiker clamps, and if they're not sized well they'll cut into the rubber. I'd use a little contact cement.

Always liked to wire tie things like that. I used to do all my jet ski grips like this as well. I like to double loop then tie. Be sure to pull as you tighten. Use good wire.

I change my answer to that nice compression fitting. After all that is virtually what every single pump uses. Not sure how my brain missed that... the power of suggestion from the original post.

Same here, for something non-critical, under 100 psi, and softer tubing I've gotten away with zipties. Not a soft Harborfrieght one but a higher quality one or a metal lock one. Use 2 if it feels unsafe.

I've seen this "knot" around, always wondered how it was done.
