Just bought myself a set of DT 5.1d rims on Hope Hubs, having decided against the DT Ex1750 wheelset for reasons of cost and whiteness.

I did like the fact tha tthe 1750s had a 10mm DT QR rear axle though, so I'm wondering - can I get the same basic setup using the two items below? Anyone done it?

Cool - just wanted to be sure i was'nt headed up the wrong path.

How easy/hard is it to convert the hub? The wheelset I ordered is a QR front but comes with 20mm adapters, so I suspect I'll be finding out soon enough... "just an allen key", I'm told, but I already have a hope hub and can't see how it would be done.

you sill need to knock the axle out of the shell and then knock a bearing off the axle

follow the same steps..only that you will swap the axle and caps from the QR ones to the 10mm TA ones...

Changing the rear axle is slightly more involved than the front axle, but still simple. The thing that threw me off was not getting the main gasket on the rear seated properly. Make sure that you use something like a spoon to seat the gasket properly, or else you'll have major major drag. Otherwise crisillo's link to JC's rebuild thread will have more than enough information on this pretty simple procedure
