got these two brakes and want to know which ones to use. i am wondering which one is more powerful. got an xcish bike and a beef cake hardtail. i am thinking of putting the hayes on the xc bike and the hope c2 on the beefy bike. let me know what you think

It's definitely the C2, with the silver dial on the top of the lever? The C2 is a closed-system brake and will need adjusting at the lever to compensate for fluid expansion. They would pump up on long descents or under repeated hard braking and require manual adjustment; then you'd have to make the opposite adjustment as and when the fluid cools.

Whichever bike gets the easiest ride, should also get the Hopes.

yes the old hope c2 with the silver dial. i know that it is a closed system. thanks for pointing out the fluid expansion thing. i guess that it makes sense that the hopes should go on the bike that doesnt see the heavy duty riding.
