My green machine - '94 Homegrown FS by Control Tech
Somewhere around 2000 my HG was pretty beaten up and I decided it deserves a new makeover. I have spent the past years looking for NOS parts, invested into a new paint job and have built it up again some weeks ago.
It is a Homegrown FS frame made by Control Tech. This pre-series was only sold to shop employees and I purchased it in '94 directly from an employee.
Look Fournales Fork and Fox RL shock, decided to retire the original Specialized Carbon Fork (Judy) and Rock Shox shock.
NOS Control Tech: Seat post, stem, handle bar, skewers, seat clamp, headset cap as well as bar ends
San Marco Aspide Saddle, Magura green Ltd. edition
XT gruppo from '94 (M737, M738, M739) incl. hubs, cassette and V-brakes (upgrade from original)
Mavic 217 Ceramic rims with XT737 hubs
Yeti Lock on grips, Homegrown seatstay protector
I havn't decided yet what stickers to put on, I have various NOS versions available. All I put so far is the headtube batch. So not many homegrown apples on this bike yet ...
The bike weighs about 22lbs. and I am impressed how well it rides - and my current / recent fleet includes bikes a RIP9 09, Sultan, Scott Ransom or GF Superfly.
