It looks like the Ziggurat and the Big sur get the new frames wiith carbon seat and chain stays, saves somethiing like 100 grams. Nice. Lots of pictures are up, everyone should take a look.

You can take a look at the Reba too.

Pretty nice. Trek makes some really nice carbon frames too. Personally, I've never really liked the idea of carbon in mtb frames. Not because of weight/performance reasons, carbon is prettty nice in that regard, but rather the risk of trashing a really nice, expensive frame in a single wreck. A wreck that may put a ding in an metal structure, but not necessarily weaken it, may cause a defect in a carbon structure that can lead to catastropic failure. Just something to consider.

That said, there's some really nice carbon mtbs (and mtbs with carbon structural elements, like the GFs) out there.
850??! That's saaweet. I shouldn't have asked, avoiding bike purchases is hard enough without enticements like that. Guess at some point I'll have to go masachist and take the fully rigid plunge...and I was feeling so superior just from hucking a hardtail. ;)

Oh and don't hate on the landyachts, they are fun (and interesting) too!! :D

as a wise man once said "don't be hatin'"

no, i'm straight, just to have someone yawn at a totally cool design coming mainstream to the masses agitates me a little bit (nothing a few happy pills won't fix right up). There is no newer/cooler/off-beat-comes-to-the-mainstream bike being released for 2005 that I'm aware of, and at this price point, it should totally dominate the similar baby-wheeled options from Bianchi (BASS/SISS/DISS/MISS/PISS/whatever), or Crackendales 1FG.
