Holy Jim Trabuco tomorrow Dec3

I am interested in riding parts of the Vision Quest course, since I'm signed up for '06 race and have not ridden it before. I did the Blackstar/Silverado part recently, and would like to do the rest before March. So I would be interested in doing W. Horse Thief/Trabuco, Trabuco/Holy Jim, or Maple Springs/Holy Jim, this weekend. The latter would need a shuttle I think. What time do you plan to hit the trail?

Hey cool. Whatever works I like to be out early so I can be back on th ecouch while there is still some sun.

I would prefer tomorrow. Trabuco/Holy Jim with upper thrown in would be great. I do not know any of the other routes you mention but if they are similar I am down. I have only ridden the area one time.

Yeah, tomorrow it is for me since I have another ride planned for Sunday. Not sure what early means to you, but I would like to hit the trail by 7:30 if possible since I need to be back in Pasadena by noon.

Maple Springs is a long fire road climb up to Santiago peak. The singltrack down is Holy Jim, but it drops you in a different canyon. Hence, the need for shuttle.

Holy Jim, W. Horse Thief, and Trabuco are all in the same area and could be connected via Main Divide. Unless you dig fire road climbing, I'd think some combination of these would be more fun.

No need for a shuttle. Did this ride a few weeks back. Parked out at the entrance to Silverado Canyon and rode back to & up Maple Springs to the Peak, down Upper & Lower Holy Jim, out Trabucco Canyon, up LIve Oak Rd to Santiago Canyon Rd back to the car. 42 miles round triip.

How long did it take and how many of those 42 miles were pavement?

Until I get a big ring on my Bullit, riding a bunch of pavement is slow going.

I am thinking Up trabuco main divide to upper than lower HJim? Anyway call me I sent my number. Can we meet somewhere at 8? I have to ride in as the VW cannot take that rd.
