It has been a few years since I've ridden Hole In The Ground and I see on Trailforks there is this "Culvert Connector" trail to avoid the bunny hill fireroad between soda springs and boreal parking lot.... is this a thing? I checked Strava Heatmap and it looks like hardly anyone uses it. Anyone tried it?

Please specify.
For the geographically ignorant, there are 4 different trails in Northern California named 'Hole in the Ground'.

Hiked Hole in the Ground last Wednesday. The trail has a LOT of snow still (north of Andesite all the way to Lola Montez). And if i'm thinking of the same culvert that is mentioned above it has 2+ feet of water in it.
