Hey all,
Have an upcoming trip to Highlands in a few weeks, staying about 4 days and want to get some riding in.
I'm familar with Pisgah/Dupont but don't want to drive that far for this trip.

Looking for some good longer( 30-50 mile) loops/rides,something that incorporates Gravel and trail would be great. The less car riding the better.
Some road would be fine as well.

Looks like there is some decent stuff in Panthertown?
Thanks

There's a nice 20 mile loop going clockwise around Panthertown - a fair amount of climbing, gravel and trail, waterfalls and vistas. See the Friends of Panthertown website for map and info.

just saw this thread and I ride up that way. There are no gravel roads from Highlands to Cashiers and I wouldn't ride on 64. If you really want to climb, one option is to park at the bottom of Cedar Creek road and ride up Cedar Creek (1,000 foot ascent) to the entrance of Panthertown but its all pavement. Really your best bet is to just ride inside of Panthertown. You could get all the riding you want as its really a big place
