chainreactioncycles is very hard to beat for Shimano stuff. Free shipping if the dollar amount is high enough. IMO it's getting harder to find any real deals on Ebay because many of the Ebay stores have buy-it-now prices instead of auctions and their prices are no better than most of the regular on-line stores.

I've used all the shops mentioned here except for speedgoat. I would suggest staying away from Blue Sky unless you like waiting weeks for delivery after your credit card has been charged. I've been happy with the others.

they don't take credit cards, and only accept bank wire transfers...

If you want value priced high end parts the USD vs the GBP is at historic levels

http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/
http://www.wiggle.co.uk/
http://probikekit.com/

Those will get your XTR, X.O. FOX Fseries forks, etc...

Now if you really really want the high end stuff you want to go here:

http://sales.light-bikes.com/
http://www.fairwheelbikes.com/
http://starbike.com/

also it is faux pas to bring a giant box of parts to a bicycle shop to have them assemble the bike for you. One or two parts is ok, I usually say, my gf gave it to me as a gift.

You can also try writing down a list and asking the LBS for their best price. A lot of the times you will be surprised how close they will match to your best prices you spec'd online. Because you still need to factor in shipping, and a lot of the times you can not get all the parts from one internet source.

Still you need to weigh your pros and cons. A lot of the times I can still beat the LBS, because Canada is full of exclusive distributor BS forcing dealers to sell at MSRP, and USA stores can't sell parts across teh boarder. That is when I hit up the UK guys. They offer free shipping a lot of times. That or the fact that I want the really boutique stuff that the local bike store has never even heard about.

Good luck.
