I'm thinking about heading up there for the NY State Qualifier race at the BMX track on July 15. There's a quadruple points local race the night before, so I might come up for it and stay overnight for the qualifier. Any recommendations on where to stay near the track (Burdeck St.)? I didn't have much luck with web searches. Cheap chain motels work fine. If I brought my mtb along, too, is there any singletrack in the area?

If it was me, I'd stay in Albany and do the 20 min drive to Scdy

As for hotels I dont know much about them because I live in schenectady (well Guilderland actually but I have a Schenectady Mailing adress) and never have had to stay in one in the area. And for singletrack in the area yeah douglas is right about the pinebush, but to be more specific what he means about the white circle signs are closed trails but I ride them all the time without trouble. The best spot to park is either the willow street entrance or the new karner road entrance these offer the best (In my opinion) trails in the pinebush.
