i have a 1995 trek y33 and i am looking to upgrade my fork. i am looking to spend around 100 to 150 or so. used is fine! i want a rock shox model... prefer carbon, red or yellow if possible. i am riding a large frame and weight around 210. i ride mainly on smooth trails and roads nothing rough. any suggestions?

No way your Y33 is that light...but how can anyone give you advice on a used shock (which at your price point is just about all you can do)? Better get cruising on those ebay and mtbr ads. Be sure to get the right color, though, that's definitely an important consideration when choosing a shock

get a rock shox sid, 98 model is around 63mm travel which is probably what you have now. it's probably going to be a blue fork, repainting the lowers is easy.

or, get a rock shox (or specialized) judy fsr carbon. seen em for under 150 used.

both are light and work well enough, but at 210 lbs, might not be enough fork for you.
