Looking at running 2x9 with the FSA Afterburner MegaExo386 42-27 ring setup.
Here is what I have now:
XT M770 shifters and front derailleur
73mm BB shell
XT M770 44-32-22 crank/BB - 50mm chainline and unknown Q-factor
(might be 170mm from what I've read)
Here is what I'd like to do:
Run the Afterburner crank with a 42-27 ring combo - it gives a 49.5mm chainline and 170mm Q-factor
I'm thinking this setup will work okay (I'd just be swapping the crankset/BB).
Is it possible to run the same 3 ring front derailleur and shifter?
Can the front derailleur be adjusted with the limit screws so that it does not knock the chain off the big ring or drop it off the small ring, while using only two clicks on the shifter (either 1-2 or 2-3)?
