Looking for a rim that will fit this: Rebuilding an old bike that I love. I'm looking for quick engaging hub and rim. The rim is hardest to find. Afraid to go with the spankspike rims because they might be too wide. Currently running 2.4 tires and don't really want to go wider. It is currently vbrake but is disk capable.
If you are looking to upgrade parts on your bike, here are some specifications to take into consideration:

Wheels:
  • Front wheel is 9mm QRx100mm
  • Rear wheel is 9mm QR135mm --> keep in mind that 12x142mm rear wheels can also work if they are compatible/interchangeable with 9mm QRx135mm end caps
  • Brake rotors (6 bolt or center-lock) will be determined by the hub
Brakes:
  • Front brake is 160mm post mount, can be larger if desired with a post mount adapter
  • Rear brake is an IS mount, rotor size will be determined by the IS mount adapter you choose
  • I would recommend 160mm rotors F/R for the bike
  • As mentioned above, 6 bolt or center-lock rotors will be determined by the hubs you choose

what you need to know:
  • Spoke count-- is the wheel a 28 spoke? 32? 24?
  • Cost range?

Brakes don't matter for the rims.

I'd run some Spank rims, they've been good for me when I was runnign 26" wheels, and I'd run them again for a DJ. SPIKE Race 33 Rim

I like the 32h 33 Spank the most, however, it would probably be too wide for the frame.

It should be fine with 2.4 tires. Rims aren't the limiting factor of what fits a frame--it's the tire.
