Actually you need a zero stack, from the cane creek lineup look for the "ZS" designation. The integrated headset is not the same thing.

The ZS-3 is a nice one, although I am not sure when giant ('09 or '10?) introduced the tapered steerer (1.5" lower). If you have a tapered steerer, than the above headset is not the correct one.

I believe this one will work for the 1 1/8 - 1.5 tapered steerer:

Sorry I'm pretty new to this stuff, can you tell me how to figure put if I have a tapered steerer?

Those bearings are easily resurrected if that is the problem. They can be pretty much unmoveable and still you can get 'em going again.
I actually just need the top cover of the intenal headset because mine is crackd, but I haven't found a website where i can simply buy the top cover of a headset yet........
