Busy putting together a new Santa Cruz Nomad and looking at the 2011 Truvativ XO Cranks. Not sure what implications the sizing options have. I have a choice of 170mm or 175mm. Is that the crank length? Why would one be more suitable than the other?

Cheers,

Sam

Yep, Crank arm length. Reason being: Leg length. Someone with longer legs would most likely benefit from being able to fully extend their legs on a downstroke.

Others say 170 is a "spinning length" and 175 is a stand and hammer length.

Comes down to what you prefer. How long was your old bike? Did you like it? Stick with it.
If not pick the one you like.
